Feng Shui is an ancient science that is practiced as a delicate art. The practice of Feng Shui goes back approximately 3500 years. It has its roots in the Chinese way of viewing the universe where all things on this planet earth have been categorised as per the five elements of Feng Shui.

The five elements i.e. Fire, Earth, Metal, Wood and Water make up the central pillar of Feng Shui analysis. Each of these elements can have either a Yin or a Yang energy.
Literally translated, Feng Shui means Wind and Water and refers to the earth, its mountains, valleys and waterways, whose shape and size, direction and levels are created by the interaction of these powerful forces.
Feng Shui is also an Art, as conceived by the practitioner and as related into form through the eyes of the observer. It is the ability to interpret the science in various ways that makes a Master Practitioner good or not so good.
Hence, like any other form of art it also balances itself on the same principles as any other art. As they say, "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". What an experienced Master sees may not be the same as what you or the neighbour might see. A certain mysticism continues to surround the practice of Feng Shui.
